Mp3 Rocket!
Anytime I see an mp3 download site promising millions of mp3 downloads for free, my ‘Spidey Senses’ start tingling.
Such is the case with MP3 Rocket – a YouTube Video to MP3 Downloader that allows you to download videos and convert them to MP3s.
MP3 Rocket also allows you to download free mp3 music, watch TV, movies and play free games. So is it legal? As I’ve stated throughout this website, file sharing programs are not illegal in and of themselves. However, the act of downloading copyrighted music without paying for it is in fact an infringement of that copyright.
Mp3 Rocket is nothing more than another file sharing site that enables music lovers to download music without paying for it. Legal music sites like eMusic that have official agreements with record companies in various countries need to collect a monthly subscription payment for one simple reason – THEY NEED TO PAY ARTISTS FOR THEIR MUSIC!
It’s the same with iTunes. You pay per song and the artist gets their fair share of that fee paid according to the contract set up between iTunes and the artist.
Here is another question you may want to ask yourself. Is Mp3 Rocket ethical? I say no. If you like ColdPlay and you gain access to their music without paying for it, then you are stealing it. Clear and simple. It’s like when you borrow a CD of your favorite band from a friend. Under copyright law, you are only allowed to listen to that CD. If you copy the CD for your own use before you return the CD to your friend, then you are ripping off the music of your favorite band.
If you buy a CD or download and pay for music from a legal music site like eMusic, then you are allowed to copy that music for your own personal use, but not to share it with other people.
Mp3 Rocket is another one of those programs that uses the word ‘legal’ on their very homepage, but it’s deceptive. Mp3 Rocket’s software program is legal. But using it to share music or rip music off the internet for your listening pleasure without paying the artist their due is illegal in most countries and unethical in all.
It’s important to note that you need to ensure that you are paying for the music through a proper channel. Some file sharing programs will charge you for their software, but they keep all the profit from the sale and do not share it with musicians and song writers.
This site is devoted to bringing you quality music and audio resources, including entertainment and mp3 downloads from legal sites such as eMusic and audio related resources. When downloading music, make sure you download from legal music sources according to your country laws. A trusted and legal mp3 music source is one that had secured proper agreements with record companies and artists granting permission for users to download their music online.
Music download websites such as emusic are one of these trusted companies providing mp3 downloads in multiple countries.
